Mr John McAnulty AM

Biography
Mr McAnulty is a senior career officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Prior to his appointment he was Minister-Counsellor (Management) and Consul General at the Australian Embassy in Beijing, a position he held from December 2008.
Mr McAnulty has served as Minister-Counsellor (Management) and Consul General in Washington (2005-08) and Counsellor (Management) later Minister-Counsellor and Consul General in Jakarta (1998-2002), with earlier postings to Suva, Honolulu, Riyadh, Geneva, Beirut, Belgrade and Manila.
Mr McAnulty was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1985, Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2003 and the Humanitarian Oversees Service Medal (Indian Ocean) in 2006.
Mr McAnulty is married with one daughter.
